Glass Bridge of 900 Kandi, Wayanad

The Glass Bridge of 900 Kandi, Wayanad is the first glass bridge in South India. It is a beautiful walking path located in Thollayiram Kandi, Kerala.

About Glass Bridge 900 Kandi

• This glass bridge has been built 100 feet above the ground level at 900 Kandi.
• It is made from unbreakable fiberglass, imported from Italy.
• It was built in 2016 by Bharat Mata Ventures and Idukki District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC).
• Its construction cost is ₹3 crore.
• Situated at a height of 100 feet, this transparent glass bridge offers 360 degree views to the visitors.

From tourism point of view:

• The entry fee of this bridge for tourists has been kept at ₹ 100 per person.
• In exchange for this, visitors are allowed to stay on the bridge for about half an hour.
• However, due to there being no lighting facility of any kind on this bridge, tourists are prohibited from going after the evening.

900 Kandi

• It is the name of a property situated within the forest land of Wayanad.
• 900 is situated within the dense forests of Kandi, Wayanad.
• Decades ago, 900 acres of land used to be Parel Pappan’s farm, which later came to be known as 900 Kandi.
